There are a limited number of Contestants allowed in each event.
1. All Contestants should provide their own safety gear.
2. Payouts & Awards will be paid and given out on Sunday April 26th, 2026, immediately after the kid’s rodeo
3. The Top 1-3 will get payouts in these events: Pee Wee Barrels, Jr. Barrels, Sr. Barrels, Calf Riding, Steer Riding, Mutton Bustin, Breakaway Roping & Calf Scramble.
4. Top 1st Winner in these events will receive a Belt Buckle: Pee Wee Barrels, Jr. Barrels, Sr. Barrels, Calf Riding, Steer Riding, Mutton Bustin’, Breakaway Roping & Calf Scramble.
5. Top 1st Winner in Goat Tail Tying & Untying will receive a Belt Buckle.
2nd, 3rd, & 4th places in Goat Tail Tying & Untying will receive trophies.
Kids Rodeo Rules & Regulations 2026

Sunday April 26th, 2026, ALL contestants must check in at Arena gate 2 near the announcer stand. Check-in time is 9:30am-10:30am. Contestants NOT checked in will Not be able to participate. ***NO EXCEPTIONS***
1. Each number of events has a limited number of contestants on a first come first-serve basis. Upon an event being filled, contestants will be notified of entry acceptance or non-availability.
2. All Kids Rodeo contestants in the arena at any time MUST have on western attire: Long Sleeve Shirt, long Pants/Jeans, Cowboy Hat & Boots.
3. Mutton Bustin’ participants, should bring their own equipment and wear the proper safety attire: Helmet, vest, and mouth guard to compete.
4. Mutton Bustin’ Riders must be ages 4-7 years old as of April 25th, 2026, and not weigh more than 60-lbs. ***No exceptions.
It is on a first come first-serve basis. Riders will ride out of the Mutton Bustin’ Chutes for 8-seconds. All riders will be timed and judged. The Top 10 riders from Saturday will compete in the championship on Sunday.
The top 6-riders will go on to compete at the Lewiston Roundup in September 2026.
5. Only one parent will be allowed behind the chutes and in the arena at a time.
6. Calf Riders and Steer Riders must have and wear the proper safety protective equipment. All Contestants MUST provide their own safety riding equipment. All contestants must wear a helmet approved for rodeo events, contestants must wear an Athletic Protective Mouthpiece while competing and contestants must wear a vest designed to protect the chest and back while competing.
7. The Calf Scramble Important: Ages 8 to 13-years. A ribbon will be placed around the calves’ TAIL. The first team to remove and return the ribbon to the judge located in the chalk circle and hand the ribbon to the judge will be the 1st place winning team. The next two teams to successfully complete the task will receive second and third place. (No horses will be allowed in the arena.)
8. The Calf Scramble Important : Ages 14 to 18-years. A ribbon will be placed around the calves’ TAIL. 9. All barrel racing contestants must be on horseback before entering the arena to compete. Hats must stay on top of contestant’s head through the entry gate. If a contestant loses their hat before entering the In-gate they will be Disqualified. For Junior and Senior barrels, the arena will be raked after every five rides. The arena will not be raked for Pee Wee Barrels.
10. Pee Wee Barrel Racers must be a single horse and rider to make qualifying time, OR they may be led by 1-adult on foot. The person leading the horse may not break the eye, starting or stopping.
11. Asotin County Fair & Kids Rodeo reserves the right to make any changes it deems necessary and appropriate to procedures, rules, and events without prior notice.
12. Only Contestants get in free. All others pay to get into the fair & rodeo.
